What’s the Word?

posted in: Behind the art 2

It’s hard to believe another year is almost gone. At this time of year, it is popular for many people make resolutions.

Not me. I have never been a resolution person. I always felt like I was setting myself up for failure. It wouldn’t take me long to trip up and then, completely forget about the goals I had set for myself.

A few years ago, I started picking a word for the year. It was not so much a goal, but a theme. I used that word throughout the year as my guide.

This year I am planning to take it a step further and learn what I can about my word from The Word. Each month, I will look at verses from the Bible and learn God says about my word.

    Love your art friend! My word this year is “integrity.” I had not found a definite word yet going into these last few weeks and I had come to the place I thought maybe I just would not do one in 2014, but through a situation these last few days of the month and reading Psalm 101, I knew that was my word. Being a woman who lives in thought and in deed the same.

    “I will seek to live a life of integrity;
    …I will walk in my house with an honest and true heart.
    …I will rid my heart of all perversion;
    I will not flirt with evil.
    …I will look for those who are loyal in the land
    so that they may live with me and know my pleasure.
    Whoever walks with integrity will enter my service.
    Psalm 101:2-4, 6, Voice

    Happy New Year L!
