I am weak!

posted in: Life, Scripture 4

Hello dear friend loved by God,

How are you? Really… How are you?

You can be honest with me.

I will be honest with you. I am troubled. The world and the tasks at hand today are weighing heavily on me. I have a big thing hanging over me this morning and, it must be done, quickly. And yet, I sit here writing to you. I don’t want to face it, because I know, that according to the world’s standards I will fail. In this assignment, I don’t measure up. So in my backwards thinking, I will put it off. Avoiding the inevitable… getting stressed out… sick to my stomach… sad.

So I pray.

Lord, I know you are here with me. I know you will never leave me or forsake me. You are sovereign. You are already in this situation. This impending task that must be done- that I have yet to approach- has your fingerprints, your grace, all over it. Please give me direction. Please show me the way. Please give me your words.

And. They. Come.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

So, dear friend, I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. I don’t measure up. I am voted least likely in this situation. All of my worrying and dread won’t change the basic facts of the situation. But, I am not alone in this! I am strong, not because of what I have done, but because God’s power is in me. I will not succeed based on my accomplishments or how I measure up, I will be victorious because Christ is working in me.

I don’t know the outcome of this situation. You and I will have to wait and see how it all plays out. But God knows and He will work it out for my good.

Stay strong today by boasting in your weakness!

Hugs and Abundant Blessings,

Lynnette

Hi Lynnette, I sure miss seeing you and everyone at the Wednesday morning meeting(s) and hope to get back as soon as I can.
After reading your ‘blog?’ I realize that I am more a condensed version of a Christian or Catholic Christian. I fall back on the Serenity prayer constantly but it always gets me through whatever the impossible situation is. Of course there are some situations which require extreme repetitions of the Serenity prayer. I am not gifted with your ‘prayer speak’ but I appreciate it in you. My Bible study leader just turned 90 and she has that gift as well. Such a blessing. Keep up the good (God’s) work. Peggy (hug)

Missing you too Peggy. The Serenity prayer is so good in so many situations! It is all a matter of reaching out to the one who is in control and admitting it isn’t us!
