Watch Makeover

posted in: DIY, Tutorial 6

I love watches! My dad taught me at an early age to appreciate (and collect) fun watches. So, inspired by some of the silk wrap bracelets I have been seeing on Pinterest, I decided to combine a watch with a ribbon bracelet. This is a quick and inexpensive way to update your accessories!

I wasn’t too sure about what type of ribbon to use, so I was thrilled to find a product at Michaels that is intended for making ribbon bracelets! At $2.39 each, I was quite happy.

The first step in this project is removing the old band. The pins that hold it in place are just like a mini toilet paper roll holder. We all have lots of practice with those! Just use a mini screwdriver to squish the pin down and release the band from the watch. You will replace the pin and thread the ribbon through a couple of times.

I played with it until I got the ribbon just the way I wanted it.

I love both colors and they are so easy to change!

Please excuse the paint on my arm. LOL! That is from a project I plan to share next week.

I have the same watch-different band. If I bring it and the supplies camping, can we do a make n take?
